This book is awful. It portrays women as people who can’t make their own decisions, can’t work outside of the home, can’t handle finances, etc. This attitude toward women is so ignorant, and often results in psychological (if not physical) abuse. For example, one suggestion to a husband is to discuss plans with your wife before you make them, and to give her the reasons for making the decisions you made. What, a woman can’t make decisions, too? Thanking her for her attempts to please you. As if all we can do is attempt, but never succeed. My personal favorite, the book suggests that the wife watch football with her husband, and try to really manifest an interest. Hey, where does it tell the husband to go to the wife’s quilting club, and to really try to like it? Ladies, if you have any self respect (and men, if you have any respect for women) STAY AWAY FROM THIS BOOK!

This book is ABYSMAL. It’s archaic, horrifically repetitive, and painfully banal. It often asks the SAME questions 3-4 times using different wording. Many times a “single” question will contain at least 6-7 questions nested inside it, and then you’ll be given 3 short lines to answer, which is impossible and extremely irritating, to say the least.

The book also uses a scoring system that constantly changes. Sometimes it will ask you to rate things 1-6, other times 0-4. Sometimes “0″ will be “always” other times “4″ or “6″ will be “always.” Its purpose seems to be confusion.

The questions pertaining to women are absurdly misogynistic. My favorite is the “Future Wife Scorecard,” which contains the gem, “I avoid allowing my friends or activities to interfere with time to fulfill his desires.” Oh, and this one: “I cultivate an interest in his friends and recreations so that I can make a satisfactory partner of his leisure hours.” I’m surprised the book doesn’t come with a free caveman’s club, so you can go out and find your wife the ol’ fashion way.

Stay away from this ridiculous turd of a book; the only thing it will accomplish is testing your patience.
