Muslim Marriage is always a hot topic. www.halfourdeen.com - Our parents don’t really tell us what to expect when we get married, and I can’t remember ever hearing “marriage tips” during the Friday Khutbah, so I figured I would dedicate Season 5 of the Reminder series to the topic of marriage and what to expect after the Nikkah. @KamalAkaBeLikeKobe I studied and practiced Islam for over a decade intensely. I gave a lot of my life to it. I know it very well. And yes Islam does disparage the Jews and it does so for 2 reasons. 1) In imitation of the Jews own self-disparagment. It is just another thing Islam copied from them. 2) The Jews had the most respected religion in Arabia. Muhammad wanted to take from them but “correct” what he saw as wrong. Disparaging them allows Islam to exist.

If the women cannot leave for economic or any other reason, they are enslaved regardless of the nature of the man keeping them. I am certain that throughout history many slaves were well treated. That did not make their enslavement morally right. Slavery is degrading and morally corrupting to both the slave and the slaveholder.
@bashaar1989 Yes, I live in 2010 and think like as person who lives in 2010. That is both reasonable and appropriate. Many things have changed since 1432. Thinking like a person from that time would be a detriment to both society and myself. It is counterproductive for people to think as if it were some other age than the one they live in. A godly inspired message of an actual prophet should and would fit all times and all peoples. Mohamed’s message clearly does not.
